MONTEREY BAY COMMUNITY POWER TO HIRE TWO LOCAL POSITIONS IN SAN LUIS OBISPO

Ahead of the January, 2020 enrollment, MBCP seeks two reps

San Luis Obispo, CA September 20, 2019Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) is hiring two local representatives to work in their San Luis Obispo office space, BoltAbout Co-Working. In anticipation of MBCP service beginning for the cities of Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo in January 2020, as well as 10 more cities in SLO County along with all of Santa Barbara County joining MBCP in early 2021, the fast-growing public agency anticipates creating even more jobs in the near future.

The first position for which MBCP is seeking candidates is an Energy Public Engagement Associate. The successful individual will work under direction of the Manager of Community Relations and has a wide range of responsibilities for advancing MBCP’s strategic community outreach efforts and advocacy for the organization during enrollment process across MBCP’s growing service area in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.

The second position is an Energy Accounts Specialist. This person will work under direction of the Manager of Energy Account Services and has responsibility for a wide range of account related issues, including customer service, business development, and energy analytics. This position will work with MBCP’s key commercial and industrial accounts, data management, call center vendor, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. The Energy Accounts Specialist will also be responsible for addressing customer relationship issues as they arise and developing/offering new programs of benefit as they are developed. The Energy Accounts Specialist shall maintain positive relationships with all MBCP customers and assist with event outreach and presentations as may be necessary from time to time.

With these positions, MBCP seeks to promote the emergence of ‘green collar’ jobs on the Central Coast. MBCP is committed to a growing investment in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
