September 21st Event Celebrates Clean Energy, Community, Sustainability

and Coincides with National Drive Electric Week

Monterey, CA September 16, 2019 – Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) today announced its Second Annual Community Power Festival, a family-friendly event celebrating clean energy, community, and sustainability. Scheduled for Saturday, September 21 from 10 AM to 4 PM on the Custom House Plaza – Monterey State Historic Park in Downtown Monterey, the Community Power Festival takes place during National Drive Electric Week and will include free electric vehicle test drives in support of the Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Incentive Program.

Featuring interactive and educational booths, local vendors, community organizations, food and live music, the Community Power Festival has all the elements for a valuable and fun annual community tradition in the making. There is no charge for attendees and MBCP has made vendor and sponsorship opportunities easily accessible. During its second year, MBCP expects between 1,500 and 3,000 visitors to attend the Community Power Festival. The first 200 attendees will receive a complimentary $10 token which can be donated to any participating non-profit vendor. Attendees can also visit the MBCP tent and join a free raffle for a chance to win a Trek electric bicycle valued at $2,000,

We raised $2,000 for local non-profits, provided electric vehicle test drives to hundreds of people, and provided a platform for dozens of local businesses and community organizations who share Monterey Bay Community Power values,” shares MBCP Director of Communications JR Killigrew. “This year, we hope to see even bigger crowds and greater benefits for attendees, sponsors and vendors.”
