Background & Archived Documents

Monterey Bay Community Power created this page to keep our customers informed and to provide opportunities to learn more about energy policies and the regulatory and legislative process that shapes them.

The Community Choice Energy (CCE) model, also known as Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) has been growing quickly since the first CCA – MCE (formally Marin Clean Energy) – formed in 2008 and launched service in 2010. Since then, the energy market in California has evolved significantly and will continue to do so.

Facing competition from Investor-Owned Utilities, ambitious goals from California legislators and continued mandates from the California Public Utilities Commission, all CCAs have a vested interest in closely monitoring key regulatory and legislative issues. This page highlights some of the key issues and directs visitors to other valuable resources.
