City of Atascadero, County of San Luis Obispo Officially Begin Clean Energy Service with Central Coast Community Energy

New Service Marks a Milestone in Regional Clean Energy and Local Control

MONTEREY, Calif., February 19, 2025 – Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) is pleased to announce that the City of Atascadero and unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County have officially begun receiving 3CE service, expanding access to locally controlled clean energy across the Central Coast.

With this milestone, eligible customers in Atascadero and unincorporated SLO County are now receiving clean energy service through 3CE, joining 33 other regional government partners committed to making local energy decisions and advancing sustainable energy solutions. The addition of these communities completes 3CE’s planned service area, strengthening local energy resilience and expanding access to 3CE rebates that help customers electrify their homes, businesses and transportation.

3CE is a locally controlled public agency that procures renewable electricity on behalf of its customers. PG&E will continue to maintain infrastructure and manage power delivery and billing. As one of 25 community choice energy agencies in California, 3CE helps local governments and residents take an active role in shaping the energy landscape.
