HOW 3CE SERVICE WORKS


A POWERFUL PARTNERSHIP
In partnership with the City of Atascadero and the County of San Luis Obispo, Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) and PG&E are working together so you can do more with your energy.
- Community Choice: Atascadero voted to join 3CE in February 2022 and SLO County voted to join 3CE in March 2023, each following a comprehensive process of public engagement to ensure the public had an opportunity to weigh in.
- Competitive and Responsible Rates: 3CE’s rates are cost-based and set locally through a transparent process involving community stakeholders and board members representing the communities 3CE serves.
- Community Investment: In 2024, 3CE made $14.8 million available to customers through electrification rebates.
- Emissions Reduction/Cleaner Air for Healthier Communities: 3CE customers help reduce emissions for cleaner air and healthier communities.
- Building a Cleaner, More Reliable Grid for California: As shared 3CE and PG&E customers, households and businesses enrolled with 3CE are accelerating progress toward California’s decarbonization and renewable energy goals.
- PG&E will continue sending one monthly bill: As a 3CE customer, your bill will include 3CE charges for electric generation, and PG&E charges for transmission, distribution, gas, taxes, and fees.

TIMELINES
JANUARY 2025 ENROLLMENT
October 2024 – Community Outreach begins
November 2024 – New customers receive first of four enrollment notifications
December 2024 – New customers receive second of four enrollment notifications
January 2025 – 3CE service begins for eligible electricity customers in the City of Atascadero and Unincorporated San Luis Obispo County, on their regular meter-read date
February 2025 – New customers receive third of four enrollment notifications
March 2025 – New customers receive fourth of four enrollment notifications
MAY 2025 FOLLOW-UP ENROLLMENT
For newer households and businesses, and others not included in the January enrollment
March 2025 – New customers receive first of four enrollment notifications
April 2025 – New customers receive second of four enrollment notifications
May 2025 – 3CE service begins for eligible electricity customers not included in the January enrollment, on their regular meter-read date
June 2025 – New customers receive third of four enrollment notifications
July 2025 – New customers receive fourth of four enrollment notifications

As a local public agency, we believe in the power of choice. All customers being enrolled can opt out to return to PG&E electricity bundled service at any time.
